When I was a little girl, I used to gauge my calendar off my mother’s baking. Each season or holiday would be marked with a new special baked good. And while she was constantly making new things, many items cycled each year (or on my enthusiastic request) because they were always my favorites. This poppyseed bread always marked Spring for me and to this day it’s one of my favorite recipes. With hints of almond and an orange glaze from fresh squeezed oranges, it’s unlike any poppyseed bread you’ve had in the past. I promise.
